Will Roof Rack for 2015 Honda CR-V with Flush Rails Interfere with Sunroof

I’d like to carry a 17’ Aluminum Racing Canoe on a 2015 Honda CRV with flush Rails and Sunroof. I’m concerned that the flush rails only allow for a ~32” span between the cross bars and may inhibit the functionality of the sunroof. Is a 32” spread enough for a 17’ canoe? Is there a means to get a longer spread? How would either impact the functionality of the sunroof? Thank you in advance.

Since your 2015 Honda CR-V has flush-mounted rails the roof racks that fit the car will each install into fixed mounting points so there is not a way to add a larger spread.
For a roof rack that will carry your canoe a great option is from Rhino-Rack because of their usable 49 inches of crossbar space and strong 165 lb capacity. This rack is made up of:

When we test fit this rack on a 2014 Honda CR-V the bars are close to the sunroof but not directly over them (see accompanying photo) though it is possible the will rack will still interfere with its functionality if it is a panoramic sunroof and it is not recommended to open the sunroof with accessories such as a canoe carrier attached. To carry your 17' canoe I recommend checking out the Thule Portage # TH819 because it has ramped sides which make it easy to load and unload your canoe, as well as its soft pads that cushion your canoe. It also comes with load straps and bow/stern tie-downs to save you the extra expense of having to purchase those separately.
