Question:

I have an x3 m4, 2018. I’m looking for a hitch and bike rack. I was looking at Jason’s post with 2 pictures of x3’s. My bmw is identical to the one with the temporary license plate. Can you tell me which hitch is on that one, and also, if there are any material differences between the two hitches you recommend? For the bike rack, I’m wondering what you would recommend. I’d like to haul 2 bikes, sometimes road bikes and sometimes mtn. I’d like a rack that’s easy to remove and reinstall, but with a solid connection with minimal rattle/sway, etc. Thank you

I found the picture you mentioned. In it the BMW X3 has the Draw Tite part # 76226 installed.

For a bike rack I really like the Saris SuperClamp EX part # SA4025F.

This is a platform bike rack that only touches the bike at the tires and only weighs 35 lbs. The biggest drawback to platform bike racks has always been the weight of them, but with this rack you get the best of both worlds. The preferred attachment style with the lighter weight that makes for easy install/removal. Check out the review video I attached for more info as well.
