Will Titan 2-1/2 Inch Weight Dist Shank # RP54977 Work with Reese Steadi-Flex System

Question:

Id like to know if this shank fits the Reese Stedi-Flex weight distrubution set up. I just got a 2016 Ram with a 2.5inch hitch. I looked at the Reese reducer sleeve and it states right on there, DO NOT use with a weight distubution hitch. So at this point I am confused, based on the questions Ive seen answered, you all say a reducer can be used. However if I needed to, or wanted to upgrade to a 2.5inch shank, which shank works best with the Reese Stedi-Flex system? Thanks

Generally speaking a reducer sleeve does not decrease the capacity of a trailer hitch but this can depend a bit on the particular trailer hitch or the reducer sleeve being used. We have seen, such as in your case, that certain sleeve manufacturers do not recommend using them with weight distribution systems. When this is the case I definitely recommend following the manufacturer guidelines.

The Reese Titan Weight Dist Shank # RP54977 that you referenced is compatible and will work great with your Reese Steadi-Flex System and will allow you to do so with the 2-1/2 inch receiver on your new Ram.
