Question:
I have a Silverado 2500 and my receiver is 2.5. Does Reese or Equalizer make a sway distribution systems that utilize a 2.5inch shank? Or, do I need to use a sleeve reducer to get to the 2inch shank. Any negative effects if I were to go with a sleeve reducer? Thanks for any help

We do have weight distribution shanks available that are designed to fit 2-1/2 inch hitch receivers like what is on your Silverado 2500.
For the Reese Steadi-Flex Weight Distribution System # RP66561 that you were looking at, you will just need to add a shank like the Reese Titan # RP54977. This shank is compatible with 2-1/2 inch receivers and will provide up to a 8-1/4 inch rise or 5-3/4 inch drop.
You will also want to make sure the weight distribution system you choose is properly rated for your towing setup. The most important factor to consider is your total tongue weight. This will include both the loaded tongue weight of your trailer along with any added cargo weight coming from behind the rear axle of your Silverado. This number should fall somewhere around the middle of the operating range for the system you choose. The Reese Steadi-Flex System has a tongue weight capacity of 700 to 1,400 pounds.
You will also just need a compatible hitch ball like the 2 inch # A-90 or the 2-5/16 inch # 19286.
