Question:
Looking to upgrade the landing gear on my 5th wheel trailer. Right now I just have a hand crank but I have seen people with motors and a switch. What kind of upgrades are there for landing gear and what is the best?

We do have motors that you can add to your landing gear. For example, the Landing Gear Set # RVLG-8000 can be operated with the manual crank # RVLG-HDL but you can also add the motor # LC142178 and switch # LG-145236 for effortless operation on your end.
The next upgrade for landing gear is the Ultra-Fab Deluxe Electric Landing Gear Set # UF17-943010. This is rated for up to 12,000 lbs and operates via separate motors so you can easily level your 5th wheel trailer without using blocks like part # CAM44512. For this to fit your 5th wheel though you may need to have the weld stops cut off and then welded in different spots. If you check out the attached picture you can see where the weld stops are on this landing gear.
When it comes to the best there is none better than the Lippert Ground Control 3.0 which comes in both a 4-Point Set # LC358590 and a 6-Point Set # LC675817. What makes the Ground Control 3.0 the best is that it automatically levels your 5th wheel trailer. Once you reach your camping destination you simply use the control pad to easily level your trailer without the use of leveling blocks. The Ground Control 3.0 can be installed on your 5th wheel trailer without welding if the weld stops on your current landing gear measure 17-1/2" outside to outside (see attached picture).
I have attached some review videos for you to check out as well.

Which high speed motor would you recommend for the RVLG-8000? I bought this unit to replace my old set because the ratio was wrong on the old set and they are discontinued. The old motor and gear box are not compatible. What are my options for a new motor?
