How to Determine the Wire Color Function on a Trailer

my trailer has red brown yellow and green and the new connector has white brown yellow and green

I cannot speak of what function the wire colors represent on your trailer but I can say that on the 4-way trailer connector you have now; the white is for ground, the brown is for running lights, the yellow is for left turn/stop, and the green is for right turn/stop.
In order to determine which color wire is for which function on the trailer you would need to either trace them back to the tail light or use a 12 volt battery and see which circuit they illuminate. The issue with us telling you what each wire represents is that not all trailer manufacturers use the same color wire for the same functions and the trailer could have been required at some point so the functions of the wire in regards to its color would be even more unpredictable.
