Front Trailer Hitch for 2005 Dodge Ram 2500

Question:

Front hitches. I have a 2005 Dodge Ram 2500. Reg cab and long bed. I want to install a front hitch, but from what I see there is 4 options, but only 2 are for the 2500/3500 series. Is it possible to use the models listed for the 1500 on a 2500, or are the frames and mounting regions that much different? Id really rather not drill anything. Thanks.

The mounting for a front trailer hitch on a 2005 Dodge Ram 2500 is different than on a 1500 which is why drilling is required on a 2500.

If you take a look at the cut out of the instructions of Draw-Tite Front Mount Hitch # 65033, which fits a 2005 Dodge Ram 1500 you can see that you only need to line it up with the frame rails.

I also added a cut out of the instructions of the Draw-Tite Front Mount Hitch # 65046, which DOES fit your 2005 Dodge Ram 2500. If you take a look at these instructions and watch the linked installation video you can see there isn't as much room on the frame rails simply to bolt it on in the same manner, which is why drilling is required.
