Correct Orientation and Ability to Mount Lippert Shock Kit on Inside of Frame Rail
Published 11/14/2018 >
Question:
I am looking at mounting your shock kit on my toy hauler. A couple of questions if you would. 1- dont know if I have the 2 1/2 inch, clearance to mount them outside of the frame rail and the tire. The trailer is in storage until spring. I am wondering if I could mount them on the inside of the frame rail instead of the outside? I know it will be not as easy but I think it is do able. 2- When mounting ,do you mount them as the front axle, the shock faces forward and the back axle does the shock face to the rear? 3- Could you email me the directions on mounting the shocks because I can not blow up the directions big enough to read that is on your site. A picture of the shocks mounted would also help. I would like to by these before the sale price ends. Sorry for being so long and thanks for the help.

We have spoken with Lippert in the past about mounting the Bolt-On Shock Kit # LC281255 inside the frame rail and they do state that this is perfectly fine to do as long as there isn't another obstruction on your trailer such as a water tank that would get in the way.
When mounting the shocks on a tandem axle trailer both the front and rear shocks will actually face the same direction. The shocks on the front axle and the rear axle will point toward the rear of the trailer.
I have sent you a separate email with the full instruction manual attached. Unfortunately we don't yet have a photo of these installed on a trailer.
