Depending on the specific cab and bed size on the 2018 Silverado 2500 with 6.6L Duramax diesel your gooseneck towing capacity will be different. Any option will work to pull 9,000 lbs depending on the weight of the trailer itself which based on the ratings shouldn't be an issue.
Here are the towing capacities for gooseneck or 5th wheel trailers for those model options:
Regular cab long box 2WD the rating is 18,100 lbs or 4WD 15,900 lbs.
Double cab standard box 2WD is 16,400 lbs or 4WD 14,400 lbs
Double cab long box 2WD is 15,700 lbs or 4WD 13,700 lbs
Crew cab standard box 2WD is 15,400 lbs or 4WD 13,500 lbs
Crew cab long box 2WD is 14,800 lbs or 4WD 12,400 lbs
For the best gooseneck hitch option I highly recommend the B&W Turnoverball Underbed Gooseneck Trailer Hitch w/ Custom Installation Kit - 30,000 lbs # BWGNRK1016. This hitch is known throughout the market as the best underbed gooseneck trailer option and is a fit for your 2018 Silverado 2500 whether it is a standard bed (6-1/2 foot) or long bed (8 foot). To add a second 7-way wiring harness to the bed I recommend the Hopkins Endurance 5th Wheel/Gooseneck 90-Degree Wiring Harness # 41157. This will give you convenient access and a clean look.
If you determine you want to do 5th wheel towing, that B&W gooseneck hitch becomes the underbed mount for the Companion 5th wheel hitch. For an 8 foot bed you would use # BWRVK3500-5W and for a 6-1/2 foot bed the slider # BWRVK3400-5W to give you turning clearance needed. I've attached some videos to assist.
