Question:
I have a 2010 Ford F-150 FX4 with max trailer tow package. The stock reciever on my truck is a V-5 with max tongue wieght of 1,150 lbs weight distributing. The GCWR rating is 17,100lbs. This vehicle will be used to tow a 2019 Jayco White Hawk 27RB GVWR 8200lbs. I will be utilizing an equalizer weight distributing hitch. I need to fit my motorcycle in the bed of my truck, but must have the tailgate down in order to fit the bike see picture. Can I add any kind of extension to this set up to allow my tailgate to be down while towing? Thank You,

That's a very cool bike so I can see why you want to bring it but the issue is that any type of extension is going to reduce your tongue weight capacity by 50 percent which is not something you will be able to do.
The only thing you can do to add length is use a longer shank with your weight distribution system and the longest shank is 18 inches. You will need to know how long your system's current shank is and measure how much more room you need to have your tailgate down.
The two 18 inch shanks we carry are the Equal-i-zer Weight Dist Shank # EQ90-02-4500 which has a maximum 7 inch rise or 3 inch drop (with square spring bars) or the Equal-i-zer Weight Dist Shank # EQ90-02-4600 which has a maximum 8 inch rise or 4 inch drop (with square spring bars).
Each of these shanks fits 2 inch hitches and is compatible with weight distribution systems that are rated for tongue weight capacities ranging from 600 lbs to 1,400 lbs.
