Can I use the Malone aero crossbars without a cradle on 2017 4runner.no kayak cradle?

The Malone AirFlow2 Roof Rack - Aero Crossbars # MPG215 are a confirmed fit for your 2017 Toyota 4Runner. You can use the roof rack without kayak cradle, but it isn't the best option. At the very least, I recommend the Malone Deluxe Kayak Carrier # MPG152 which comes with tie-downs. This is the bare minimum to avoid direct contact and to soften the ride a little.

A better option for a cost effective carrier that is easy to install is the etrailer J-Style Kayak Carrier # e98878 or the Swagman Contour # S65148. This is a much better option as they are designed to hold and carry kayaks even at highway speeds. These have integrated cushioning and will provide much better support for your kayak.
