It sounds like you have installed your Redarc Tow-Pro Elite trailer brake controller # RED44FR using the custom GM wiring adapter # 3016-S. This is the correct harness for the 2018 Cadillac Escalade with factory 7-way connector.
An error code from ANY trailer brake controller most often is a result of a connectivity issue like a loose or dirty trailer plug (or vehicle socket). For the Tow-Pro Elite a flashing error code may remain until you unplug the trailer and wait at least a minute or two for the unit to reset.
Redarc uses specific color codes to indicate the specific problem. If you refer to pages 17 and 18 of the linked instructions for the controller in the photo that I included you will see the specific color codes that will tell you what the most likely issue is.
