Troubleshooting Lack of 12V Power to Slide Out Solenoid
Updated 09/17/2018 | Published 09/15/2018 >
Question:
The solenoid doesn’t have 12V going to it. The motor runs in both directions with the switch but the slides will not go out. I can close the solenoid valve and it works great. Any help would be appreciated.

If the valve on your solenoid was open then that would explain why nothing was operating properly. The valve being open would mean that the pressure would have been released. Since you closed the valve, as it is supposed to be, that is why everything is working great.
I spoke with my contact at Lippert about the above and about you not seeing 12V going to your solenoid. He said that some solenoids will use 6V power instead. If your slide is working properly after you closed the valve then you should be good to go but if you aren't seeing any power to your solenoid that would indicate that your power wire is damaged somewhere between the power source and the solenoid. Look for any places where it is damaged or bent and replace accordingly and this should fix your problem!
