Troubleshooting Hitch Install Bolts Not Threading Into Frame Rail Weld Nut

Question:

Ive spent a few hours trying to install this, and I cant get the bolt in the weld nut. I tried the WD-40 trick with a wire brush, and the bolt wont even bite on the nut. I brought it by my mechanic, and he said he thinks its the wrong size bolt. Any chance I was sent the wrong piece? I bought item number 75547 Thanks!

We get this question quite a bit and the issue is really that the threads end up with quite a bit of corrosion and dirt which prevents the bolt from threading in. I attached a couple help articles that cover cleaning out weld nuts for you to check out but typically using a thread tap will get the threads cleaned. The size bolts are M10X1.25X30 CL8.8.
