Socket Post Mounting for B&W Companion on 2007 Dodge Ram 3500

Question:

2007 Dodge Ram 3500 dually rwd crewcab long bed SLT Factory installed BandW turnover ball. I am looking at the BandW companion hitch with the ball attachment. Reading all the documents on your site it seems that a choice has to be made for the ball forward or rearward of ball depending upon my choice. BandW gooseball is located just forward of the rear axle. As always you guys have the best website to understand product choices in the world.

To the matter at hand, the correct fit for a B&W Turnoverball gooseneck hitch on a 2007 Dodge Ram 3500 with an 8' bed is part # BWGNRK1313-5W. This is significant because it will determine where the socket post goes when you are installing the B&W Companion # BWRVK3500-5W.

You correctly cited your gooseneck ball is just forward of the axle, so you would install the Companion # BWRVK3500-5W in "Position 1" as shown in the cut out of the directions I added for you to check out.
