Recommended Overload Spring Support for a 2007 Dodge Ram 3500

2007 Dodge 3500 Quad Cab 8 bed 4x4 DRW with cab over camper. Currently with load my leaf springs are about levelflat and flush against the lower overload spring. Upper overload are just engaging the stock pad. Trying to reduce sag and sway. I am considering starting with lower TLA7311S and an upperblock. Recommendations? What is the thickness of SS75GR and the Torklift A7200? Best Regards

Hey Todd, welcome back! Using the TorkLift StableLoad Suspension Upgrade w Quick-Disconnect item # TLA7311S and installing the SuperSprings SuperSway Stops item # SS75GR will definitely help with sway. They're going to prop up your leaf springs and take the sag out of your rear end. These parts are both custom fit for your 2007 Dodge Ram 3500.

The SuperSprings SuperSway Stops item # SS75GR are 4" thick with the 1" spacer installed. This is the way to go. You need the extra length.

The TorkLift StableLoad Suspension Upgrade item # TLA7200 are 2-1/4" thick.

Are your leaf springs the original stock ones and how does your truck ride without the camper in the back? I had a 2008 Ram 3500 for a few years and the suspension was great when towing but super stiff without weight on the rear end. Even with a loaded gooseneck trailer hooked up and a tool box in the back the springs never went close to flat.

Hi Jerred, Thank you for the response I appreciate your recommendations. You are correct this truck definitely rides much better with a load. The leaf springs are original stock (3-main springs, 1-lower overload (no hole yet for SS75GR) and 2-upper overload springs). What are your thoughts on adding a Timbren or SumoSpring to give the leaf springs a bit of assist rather than running the leaf springs in their upper/max load range in addition to the Stableload TLA7311S and upper stops SS75GR? If so do you have a product and installation order would you recommend? This truck will have the camper on it most of the time as I live in Hawaii and keep it on the mainland for when I have to go on a road trip. Best Regards, Todd

@ToddB You're welcome! I think adding something that replaces your bump stops is going to be a better solution than directly addressing your stock leaf springs. Especially, since your camper lives on your Ram for the most part. If your camper weighs less than 5,000 lbs, I recommend the SumoSprings Rebel Custom Helper Springs item # SSR-301-47-2. If your camper weighs more than 5,000 lbs, you'll need to go with the Timbren Suspension Enhancement System item # T94VR. These won't be comfortable when you take the camper off. They're pretty heavy duty so they stiffen up the suspension quite a bit without weight on them. These systems will engage long before your leaf springs flatten out. They'll keep your rear end from sagging and also help with sway.
