Mounting Hardware Kit for Sears X Cargo Roof Mounted Cargo Box

Question:
I have a vintage Sears XCargo. I no longer have a vehicle with a water channel on the sides to hold the straps. I bought a supposed set of conversion u-bolts from _, but I have to drill holes in the carrier, but even then it seems like the kit is built for another model. First, any idea what model carrier this is? Second, do I need to manufacture my own conversion u-bolts, or are any anywhere? Thanks.

I am not aware of any direct fit mounting hardware kits available for the Sears X Cargo Roof Mounted Cargo Boxes due to their age. As you mentioned, you will need to drill holes in order to mount it onto a set of crossbars. The u-bolts kits are universal, not model specific. I recommend the Mounting Hardware for Car Top Cargo Roof Cargo Box part # CTC-18PARTS if you have aero crossbars.
