Will OEM Receiver Need to be Removed on 2016 Ram 1500 to Have a Class IV Trailer Hitch Installed

Question:
I am purchasing a travel trailer and need to install a class IV receiver. Do I have to remove the factory installed receiver or is there a custom style receiver I can install to the factory one?

To install a Class IV trailer hitch, like the Draw-Tite Ultra Frame Trailer Hitch Receiver # 41948, on your 2016 Ram 1500 you will need to have the OEM trailer hitch removed.
We do have options like this for 2500 and 3500 pickups but that is for heavy duty towing where dual receivers are required. For your 1500 this is the only way to have at least a Class IV trailer hitch.
An installation video and the written instructions have been linked for you to check out.
