Question:
i have a enclosed cargo trailer with a v-nose. On the one side of the v-nose is a door for unloading snowmobiles. This winch would be ideal for me because of its mobility to be none stationary, but my concern is when loading a car a buy my self and readjustment the car, like steering it in straight and checking things as I pull it in, will this winch hold while I am making adjustments.

Yes, the Superwinch Winch 2 Go 4000SR part # SW1140232 will hold while you are making the steering adjustments on the vehicle. It has a 4,000 lb line pull capacity but please keep in mind that the vehicle, assuming the wheels turn freely is considered a rolling load so the actual line pull strength needed to move the vehicle will be far less than the actual weight of the vehicle. For example, if the vehicle weighs 4,000 lbs then it could very well only take 2,500 lb of line pull to move the vehicle because it is a rolling load. The angle of the pull also plays a factor into this so be sure to take a look at the attached photo so you know your capacity.
The Superwinch Winch 2 Go 4000SR is an excellent all in one winch that can be easily removed and transfered to another location but it will need to be secured to a strong surface that is rated for the weight it will be retrieving.

Im interested in using this in a emergency situation on a car trailer if a car will not move under its own power. Will this winch do the job? The trailer is a wood deck trailer. Do you recomend bolting this winch down on trailer perminitly or just using chains to attach to the rear shackles of the winch to d rings on the trailer?
