Question:
Hello I have a 2018 LT Chevy Silverado 1500 crew cab and need to install an aftermarket brake controller as it did not come with the factory in-dash controller. Can you please provide me with a controller PN and harness that will work? Also, is there any programming required or do I simply mount the controller and plug it in?

For your 2018 Chevy Silverado 1500 I recommend the P3 brake controller # 90195. This controller has easy to understand diagnostics, it can be mounted a full 360 degrees in the direction of travel, and it can plug right into your truck using wiring harness # 3016.
Or if you want something that is going to take up less dash space but still give you great proportional braking I recommend the Redarc Tow-Pro Elite, # RED44FR and wiring harness # 3016-S to plug it into the truck. Once installed you will basically just have the knob present on the dash so it is a very clean look. I have linked a couple of videos, 1 for each controller, for you to view.
I have not heard that any vehicle computer programmer is required to install a brake controller on your 2018 Silverado.
