Towing a Gooseneck Trailer with a 5th Wheel Hitch

Updated 06/01/2018 | Published 05/31/2018

Question:

We have a 2000 Wells Fargo gooseneck stock trailer with a 4.5inch square tube. We need the king pin adapter tube. Your sales rep told my husband that you dont carry the 4.5. This description says inner tube dimension 4, outer tube 4.5. Im attaching a picture of our couple. The tube that slides up inside is 4.5inch o.d. Please confirm if this part is the correct size. Thank you.

Ram Gooseneck to 5th Wheel Trailer Coupler Adapter # KPG5-Q30 is both the inner and outer tubes. The inner tube is 4 inches while the outer tube is 4-1/2 inches. All of the square inner tubes only that we have are 4 inches. But there is another way to tow the gooseneck trailer if all you have is a 5th wheel hitch.

Assuming you have industry standard above the bed rails to mount your 5th wheel hitch you can use a gooseneck hitch plate that fits those rails such as # 16055.

I have linked a video featuring this hitch for you.

I have also linked our help article on towing a gooseneck trailer with a 5th wheel hitch.
