Does Hitch Opening of Draw Tite # 76227 Stick Out Past Rear Bumper
Updated 05/23/2018 | Published 05/22/2018 >
Question:
Does the hitch stick past the bumper increasing the chance of hitting it when walking by? Also is the cross bar exposed underneath the bumper?

If a trailer hitch sticks out past the rear bumper of the vehicle it is installed on it you do run the risk of hitting your shin on it as you walk by. The good news is that the Draw Tite hitch part # 76227 sits about flush with the rear bumper so that would not be a problem.
The picture I attached shows what it looks like installed on a similar Outback as your 2018 Subaru Outback Wagon. The cross tube of this hitch is not visible below the vehicle. Only the hitch opening.
