Yakima Buttondown 6 Lock Kit Recommendation

Question:

I recently purchased a Yakima Buttondown 6. It looks at if their is no locking mechanism on it right now. Instead their is a piece of black plastic with what might be a keyhole towards the top of it. Im looking for help removing this piece, then finding a lock to replace it with so I can lock my ski/board in there.

What you sent in a picture of is a Yakima SKS lock core housing. What you need is just a set of locks like the # Y07202 which comes with a set of two and you'll be able to replace those black plugs with lock cores. This kit comes with everything you'd need.

I attached a picture of the install instructions for this kit for you to check out as well. Basically to get the black plug out you'll need to use a key to pry it out like in the instructions picture.
