Will Yakima Rack and Roll Trailer Work Well for Long Trips

Question:

I would like to know if you recommend this trailer for traveling long trips of 500 highway miles. If so, what precautions should i take or be aware of such as: Would bearings overheat or need special attention?

The Yakima Rack and Roll Trailer # Y08106 referenced in your question will work great for your longer trips on the highway. I also spoke with my contact at Yakima to verify this. The hubs on this trailer use sealed bearings, so they will not need any kind of maintenance or special attention. The only precaution you might take during longer trips is to simply check your load every few hours to make sure everything is secured tightly to the trailer. Taking along a spare tire and wheel with # Y08121 is also a good idea.

This is a really nice, lightweight sport trailer that features adjustable 66 inch crossbars that you can use as anchor points for your kayaks, bikes or other accessories. It has a weight capacity of 250 pounds and just needs a 2 inch hitch ball. A standard 4-Way connector is also included for connecting its signal lights to your tow vehicle.

I have attached a short video demonstration on this trailer that you can also check out.
