For Tonneau Cover Velcro Which Usually Wears Out First Hook or Loop

Question:

I cleaned the loop section with a wire brush and it still didnt stick. So my questions is how do you know which section to replace.

The hook side of the Velcro connections is typically the stronger section and it's the loop side that would get worn out, but your best option is to check out both sections and see which happens to be damaged. If you can find another section of Velcro that you know works well you might try mixing and matching the different pieces with the Truxedo sections to see which piece is the one that doesn't work.

The part # TX1117786 that you referenced is the hook side for a Deuce cover by Truxedo.

If you need the loop portion that is sewn into the cover, that part is not an available item. Per my contact at Truxedo, the vinyl of the tonneau cover would need to be replaced.

If you want to let me know the year, make, model, and bed length of your truck I will be happy to find the replacement cover you need for your truck. We would need to know if you have the Deuce or the Deuce 2 cover on your truck.
