Question:
I am about to order your recommended hitch for my Santa Fe. After reading all the customer reviews about the wiring harness, I saw that a number of them said if only I had known there was a factory trailer harness I would have ordered the other kit. My question is: How can I tell if my Santa Fe has a factory trailer harness? I try to learn from others!!

Expert Reply:
Yes, the way you determine if you have the factory trailer harness is to check along the frame rail at the rear of your vehicle, if you locate a plug and play connection that means you have the factory harness. (see picture). If you don't have the factory connection, you will have to remove the rear scuff panel and interior side panels to access this harness. (see picture with red and white in the background).
I have videos attached to this article that will show wiring your Santa Fe in either scenario.
Since it appears that you plan on towing, I recommend the Curt T-Connector Vehicle Wiring Harness # C56332 if your Limited Ultimate is equipped with the factory tow package, or the Curt T-Connector Vehicle Wiring Harness # C56184 if you do not have the tow package. Either harness will easily install by using built-in ports on the vehicle and provide you with a 4-Way connector to connect with the trailer.
