Expert Reply:
Trailer Vehicle Identification Numbers (VIN) have a system to their VIN layout. The first three digits are the code for the manufacturer. Digits four and five are the model of the trailer. Digits six and seven are the length in feet of the trailer. Digit eight is the number of axles. Digit nine is a check digit. Digits ten and eleven are the year and the production plant of the trailer. Digits twelve to seventeen are the specific serial number for the trailer. Plug in the letters into the layout and you will find the meaning of the BP.
