Firestone Ride-Rite Air Helper Springs vs. Airllift For 2018 Toyota Tundra
Updated 03/19/2018 | Published 03/17/2018 >
Question:
I currently own a set of Airlift 5000 air bags on a 2010 Tundra and love them when carrying a load. They suck when with no load. I have run them down to as low of air pressure as the system will allow but still the same very rough ride. How do the Firestone ride-rite compare in load and no load conditions. Most of the time I do not have a load and would like to get as close to the factory ride/feel as possible when under no load.

Helpful Expert Reply:
The Air Lift air bags have a jounce bumper built into the bag which is what you are feeling that makes your ride a bit harsher. The Firestone kits do not have that internal jounce bumper so they would feel much softer when the air is let out of the bags of the kit part # F2445.
The minimum air pressure for these bag kits is 5 psi so that the bags don't deform and become damaged.
