Features to know about

Stay Level and Confident Under Load: 5,000-lb Rear Suspension Support

When heavy gear or a loaded trailer makes the rear end sag, steering and braking can feel light and unpredictable. The Firestone Ride-Rite Air Helper Springs add up to 5,000 lbs of load-leveling support between the frame and rear suspension. By keeping your vehicle level, they improve stability, steering control, and headlight aim while reducing strain on the rear axle. The result is confident handling and even tire wear every time you haul or tow.

Fine-Tune Comfort and Control: Adjustable from 5 psi to 100 psi

No two loads are the same, so these double-convoluted air springs let you dial in the pressure to match. Add air when towing or carrying weight to level off-center loads and reduce body roll; drop down to minimum pressure for a softer ride when unloaded. Manual inflation valves are included for individual side-to-side adjustment, giving you the flexibility to balance your setup exactly how you want it.

Built Tough for Real Work: Reinforced Rubber and Rolled Crimp Seal

Each Ride-Rite air spring uses four layers of reinforced rubber with a braided wire girdle that forms its double-convoluted shape. This boosts burst pressure strength while cushioning road shock and softening contact between the axle and frame to prevent bottoming out. Corrosion-resistant metal end plates are secured with a rolled crimp seal for a long-lasting, leak-free fit that holds up through years of hauling.

Straightforward DIY Setup: Hardware and Brackets Included

Everything needed for installation comes in the box—custom brackets, air line, hardware, and separate valves for manual inflation. The brackets mount between the frame and axle to provide solid anchor points for each bag, with drilling required on some setups. Add optional switches, gauges, or compressors (sold separately) for easy inflation from inside the cab once your system is in place.

great product ,solid .Allows to set my truck up for whatever I may be doing

by:

I purchased this product to level out my vehicle while Towing my 28foot trailer. Installation took me about 2 hrs by myself laying on the concrete. Couldn't be happier with the results.

by:

Installed on my 2021 Toyota Tundra, These Firestone Ride Rite are phenomenal. I’m very pleased with the results AAAA++++

by:

Easy to install. Just my two cents, remove the jounce bumpers when installing instead of cutting them off. Makes for an easier installation. Overall works great for leveling out my boat and camper when hauling.

Still working well after one year. I haul frequently with my truck and inflatedeflate the airbags often without issue. I doo recommend the tee adapter to ensure both bags are filled to the same pressure.

by:

I ordered air bags from another company. They didn't sent them for over week. Frustrated I ordered same set of air bags from etrailer got them two days early. I've installed them and the other company still hasn't responded to the cancelation. let alone Sent the products I payed for and still waiting for a refund. I've have ordered several times from etrailer every ordered on time or early I really appreciate the attention to detail

by:

These are awesome, I will install on all of my vehicles in future. Super easy install, hardest part of my install was removing the rust bolt for my fuel sending switch. Upper brackets really only fit one orientation. I have towed my boat and hauled dirt, I mess with the pressures to get it right, a bit I now carry a portable inflator in case I want to adjust. If I am not hauling/towing I keep at 12 psi and makes a better ride in my tundra. I had previously installed bilstein 5100’s to help with these issues, in retrospect I could have kept stock and just installed these. My wife’s sequoia has airbags factory installed and this is almost as good. I would highly reccomend.

by:

Installed a year ago and have used them many times towing the marching band trailer for the high school and my RV/Trailer. Easy to install, easy to use and they have made a huge difference in being able to put on my stabilizer bars and not scraping when backing my trailer into my driveway. Loaded up the truck with a pallet of concrete recently and did not have that terrible sag I had before.

@Jason Air bags are great because of the flexibility! I'm glad to hear you've been able to get some great use out of them!

by:

They're very nice, easy to install. I did it on a 2015 toyota tundra in about an hour from start to finish. I removed the rear tires to cut the joist off to make it easier for me. Other than that extra step I made for myself their videos for the install is spot on. I recommend them to anyone who is hauling anything of weight to save wear and tear on the suspension, breaks and tires of their vehicle.

by:

Installation was pretty straight forward. Completed in about 2.5 hours taking my time, in my drive with basic tools. Havent had a chance to test them out.

Outstanding product!!! Well made and easy to install on my 2010 Tundra TRD. Just basic tools needed so anyone can do it!! Take your time and it is a fun 2 hour project. Made towing my trailer so much nicer. Level ride with comfort and good maneuverability. Think I am going to add these to my other GMC work truck as well.

Outstanding! Towing for a year now and all is fantastic. Level ride makes towing more safe and pleasant!

by:

I purchased the helper springs for my 2011 Toyota Tundra for leveling the truck while towing. It took me about 3 hours to install the helper springs and they work great. I attached a photo of my truck with my VW on a U-Haul to show how the helper springs kept the load level with about 50 psi in each helper spring. I pulled the VW a little over 2000 miles, from WI to WA, and never needed to add air (the photo was half-way through the trip). Unloaded, I keep about 5 to 10 psi in the helper springs and the ride is still very smooth.

by:

These bags work very well. such a big difference in the ride and handling when I have my trailer hooked up. The trailer is a 22 foot cargo trailer by 8.5 wide. Inside measurements. Pulls like a dream with the bags at only 45 lbs air pressure.

Still an excellent ride and handles my trailer well. I will recommend this system all day long.

by:

I've had several air springs from firestone and they've always worked great, this one is no different...eTrailer's awesome customer service always helped with my purchases!

by:

etrailer was very helpful with making sure I ordered the right product. As for the product... I love the addition to my 20201 Toyota Tundra TRD PRO. It made towing my 2021 Lance 2285 Travel Trailer a dream. The truck and trailer sit perfectly level now and the truck handles great. Easy install only took a couple of hours. In my pic... the stabilizer jacks are down because I was doing a quick overnighter and didn't want to unhitch. But the stabilizers aren't lifting the camper or truck.. just kissing the ground to keep the camper from rocking when inside. Its the only pic I had handy.

by:

I just want to take a time to express my gratitude and happiness towards this item . I already installed and after couple hours was like a game change to my truck , the ride is so smooth !! I connected my RV to my truck and ended on key west . Was amazing . Thanks everybody to make this possible.

So glad to hear this, Orlando. Thanks for taking the time to share your experience with us. I hope we get to help you with your future projects, too.

In the last year I’ve logged over 2,500 miles towing with the airbags installed. Tundra TRD Pro’s are known for their “squat” when hauling. These bags not only leveled the truck but also provided a noticeable difference in handling & driving. Only regret is not having them installed earlier. Self install was easy.

Just a little over a year now and these Firestone air bags are worth every penny. Two or three times a month I have a loaded trailer going somewhere. I simply level the truck back to normal ride hight and go. No lite front end, no squat in the rear, and the trailer and truck are right where they should be. I made two decisions I wish I had done different: first I didn’t put an onboard compressor nor gages. That’s going to get added soon. Second, if you choose to not put the onboard compressor then put a T connector on the lines to make inflatedeflate easier on yourself. I highly recommend if you are towing allot.

by:

Installed easily, and used them to pull a heavy 24’ trailer across the country with a half ton pickup. The only thing I’d like to see is a manual leveling system with gauges and a compressor on board. I use a hand pump specifically for motorcycle air suspension to make the fine adjustments required to set the pressure. Works well.
They did their job perfectly.

After a year, they are a great aid in hauling a d towing with my half ton. No more sagging rear suspension when loaded. Yes, the rear ride firmed up a little even with only five pounds pressure. That’s a small trade-off.

by:

It was an easy install and everything fit OK. I removed the spare tire to make it easy. I had to slightly bend the brake hose bracket on both sides and another bracket just slightly to clear the rear spring clamp at the bottom of the spring. I carry my 1,400 pound Honda Pioneer 700 and pull my travel trailer with a 400 pound hitch weight. I have your weight distribution hitch for some of the hitch weight.

Still working great. I have them on my 1999 Ford too and those still work great.

by:

Easy to install on my 2020 Toyota Tundra TRD Pro.

by:

Firestone air bags work great. Took about 2 hours to install. Don’t forget to order the Tee fitting if you want a single fill valve.

by:

These helper springs work well on my 2018 Tundra Crewmax. My truck is leveled and I normally carry 300-400lbs of tools in the bed with a truck cap, so I definitely get the Tundra sag/squat in the rear. These helper springs get my truck back to level. The ride is still smooth. Install was straightforward and the product videos on etrailer are helpful. Very happy with my purchase!

Best airbag kit on the market! Going on 10 years and 160k miles on one kit and a year and a half on the other (two different vehicles). Firestone’s quality is excellent, their customer service is exceptional, and the kit design is simple. Quality components means ZERO air leaks in 10 years when installed properly (cut the airlines at 90 degrees with an inexpensive airline cutter or brand new razor blade). Their mounting brackets are simplified, making more room for the airbag between the axle and frame. And the double convoluted bag offers better ride quality and more suspension movement than a single convoluted bag. I’ve run a single convoluted bag setup from another reputable manufacturer and noticed a marked decrease in ride quality and comfort. I also recommend installing cradles such as those from Daystar (also 10 years on a set) to allow 100% downtravel for maintenance or off-road articulation without fear of tearing a bag. Well worth spending a little more for this USA brand kit over the cheap Chinese copy-cat kits. I tow and haul regularly - weekly, if not several times a week - and these have stood up to snowy sub freezing winters, 100 degree summer days, dusty and gravely off-highway adventures, and general use and abuse that comes from working out of a vehicle for a decade. Can’t find a better kit.

by:

Really quite easy installation. Honestly, the hardest part was routing the air line. (that coiled up hose!) I ended up covering the lines with cable wrapping to protect them from any rubbing or scuffing. I also don't have a compatable hitch for the mount, and didn't want to mount them through my bumper in the license plate area because I know I would step on them at some point in time. Product had all the correct parts, high quality, and super happy with it. I wish I had gotten them sooner.

  • Why am I Having Such a Rough Ride Pulling My 2023 Cougar 26RBS While Using R3 WDH?
Hello Craig, I am sorry to hear that your first time pulling your 2023 Cougar 26RBS was not enjoyable. With any WDH is making sure you are using the correct spring bars. You can figure out which ones you need by determining your loaded tongue weight. To get an accurate measurement, I recommend using the Big Truck Big RV Tongue Weight Scale w/ Storage Bag for Trailers - 2,000 lbs # BTBRV44FR. Typically, your tongue weight will be 10-15% of your total trailer weight. It definitely won’t...

Weight distribution (WD) systems actually take on the weight of any cargo behind the rear axle of the tow vehicle (your 2010 Toyota Tundra) as well as the tongue weight (TW) of the loaded trailer. This is why you are finding that your WD system isn't performing as well when you load down the bed of your pickup. For example, the Equal-i-zer # EQ37100ET has a TW range of 600 lbs - 1,000 lbs. If you were using this system and the 709 lb TW of your trailer plus the cargo behind the rear axle...
