Question:
What fuse controls the running lights on a trailer?

Expert Reply:
The running light fuse for the trailer lights on a 2013 Dodge Ram Pickup is located in the engine bay fuse box in the F29 cavity. It should be a yellow 20 amp fuse. If the fuse is intact then the easiest way to determine if the problem is on the truck or trailer would be to hook the truck up to a different trailer or the trailer to a different tow vehicle to see if the problem persists.
If the problem persists and it is on the vehicle side, then you will need to check the trailer connector to ensure the running light circuit is active. If it is not active, then you will need to use a circuit tester like part # PTW2993 to trace the wire back to the point where the connection is broken.
If the problem is on the trailer side, then you will want to do the same with the running light circuit as well. It may also be beneficial to check out both trailer connectors to ensure they are free of corrosion and all of the pins are intact. Finally, you will want to check that the grounds are secured properly.
