Thanks for the reply. I'm interested in the euro hitch however.. say between the 45571 and the 45561, I should get the 71, right?

With Class I hitches like what is available for your 2008 BMW 335xi, part # C11033 you have to go with the recommended ball mount otherwise the warranty of the hitch is no longer valid. So you have to use the part # C45521 which is what Curt recommends. It has a 2-5/8 inch drop and 3-1/4 inch rise.

The part # C45571 matches the rise needed so it would be the correct one to get.
