Question:

i have a 1987 prowler 365m fifth wheel . my question is, are dexter hub/drums for 5200 lb and 6000 lb axles the same ? i dont know which axles i have. the info plate on trailer is no longer readable. i see some listed for 5200 lbs only and some listed for 5200 and 6000 both, thanks

Some of the Dexter hub/drum assemblies are rated for 5200 lb axles and some are rated for 5200 to 7000 lb axles. The only difference is bolt pattern. There are 6 on 5-1/2 assemblies that will only be compatible with 5200 lbs where the 8 on 6-1/2 inch bolt pattern will stretch to the other weight capacities. The most common hub and drum for your axle size is the Dexter Trailer Hub and Drum Assembly - 5,200-lb to 7,000-lb Axles - 12" Diameter - 8 on 6-1/2 # 42866UC3. If you have the EZ Lube spindles then you will want # 42866UC3-EZ instead. The grease caps in these assemblies account for the length of the grease zerk and give easier access with the rubber plug.
