I have a newly purchased bwrvk3500 model 5th wheel hitch. is the top portion of this hitch interchangeable with the top portion of bwrvk3600. can i utilize the base of the 3600 to fit the top portion of the 3500.. i have traded trucks and require the 3600 hitch base that fits a 2016 ram 350 drw..

Yes, in this case, the top portion (hitch head) of the # BWRVK3500 will work on the hitch base of # BWRVK3600 to work for your 2016 Ram 3500.
Also the # BWRVK3600 that you need, is the model that fits into the factory puck system of Ram trucks, your old model # BWRVK3500, does not fit into the pucks on your truck bed. So to complete the process of taking the hitch off the old model and use it in your new truck, you need the Replacement Base for B&W Companion OEM 5th Wheel Trailer Hitch for Ram Item # BWRVB3600. This part will avoid you having to purchase the whole hitch.
