Question:
I have BandM 33000 5th wheel hitch and am pulling open range 247res 5th wheel. When loaded onto truck the rig is not level with front just ma little higher than the back. The hitch is in the lowest set up. Then pin box has the lower bolt holes empty can the pin box be moved to lower holes and would this the height of the front on 5 th wheel so it is more level when pulling it?n There over 7 1/2 inch at end of bed now and more as you go toward the front. Thanks Rich

To drop the front of the pin box and thus lower the front of the fifth wheel, you'd need to RAISE the pin box, not lower it. Lowering the pin box would raise the height of the fifth wheel at the front. If you have an available set of holes at the top of the pin box turret, you can go that route.
If you don't have an extra set of holes at the top of the pin box, there are a few other changes you can implement. If the leaf springs of your fifth wheel are installed so they're sitting on top of the axles, you can use an over/under kit to put the springs under the axle. This will drop the fifth wheel by the diameter of the axle. If your axles have a 3500 lb capacity each, they should be 2-3/8 inches in diameter, in which case you'd use part # K71-384-00. for a 6000-7200 lb axle, which is 3 inches in diameter, you can use # K71-385-00. Each kit is for one axle. Keep in mind that changing the geometry of a trailer's suspension can affect the way it rides.
