Question:

Need a brake controller for 2017 Ram Promaster 1500 with factory tow package. Will the Tekonsha RF radio controlled unit work? Was hoping to avoid having to hard wire the controller.

The Tekonsha Prodigy RF Wireless Trailer Brake Controller # TK94FR is truly a universal-fit trailer brake controller since it can be used with any vehicle that has a 7-way trailer connector.

The RF's main control box mounts on the trailer frame (with the cable facing forward) in any of a number of spots (please see the linked diagram). This completely avoids the need to tear into the vehicle wiring. Other brake controllers like the Prodigy P2 # 90885 and P3 # 90195 do require hardwired installation in your 2017 Ram ProMaster 1500.
