Troubleshooting One Time Tow Without Trailer Wiring

Question:
Is there a way to run trailer lights if my car is not wired for them. This is for a one time tow. I have heard that you can manually plug into the cigarette lighter when braking to turn lights on. the tow is about an hour on the highway with no traffic.. any simple solution?

There is not a way to run full trailer lights without tapping into your vehicle wiring. For a one time tow for about an hour on the highway as you stated, the simple solution is to use a couple of warning lights like the Blazer Amber Warning Beacon - LED - Battery Powered - Magnetic Mount - 4 Flash Patterns # C43A. This will warn people that your trailer lights are not working and allow you to tow your trailer to the destination. I recommend using one on each rear corner of your trailer, but you will want to check with your local laws to see if there are special requirements
Since you obviously already have the hitch, I recommend you consider getting a custom wiring harness for your vehicle so you can utilize all the trailer light functions in the future as well as for this trailer towing.
