Cause of Noise When Using Curt A16 Fifth Wheel in 2016 Ford F-250

Question:
I am experiencing a clunking sound at take off and braking with Curt A16 in '16 Ford F-250. I rode in the back to verify source of noise and it is coming from the slider. Is there any way to eliminate the noise?

The noise that you are hearing is common for fifth wheel hitches, particularly sliding hitches such as the Curt A16 # C16520-16020 and there is not going to be a way for you to eliminate that noise. There will be a bit of play between the jaws of your hitch and the king pin, so when you are taking off and braking the "clunking" you are hearing will be more pronounced.
