Is There Drilling Required to install Curt Hitch # C13382 on 2018 Subaru Crosstrek

Question:
I enjoy shopping on etrailer.com. Your videos and information is very helpful. I purchased the Curt C13382 for my new 2018 crosstrek. I purchased and installed a hitch for my wife’s Hyundai eleantra a few months ago and it was a breeze. The new hitch arrived very fast and in great condition. However, I have 1 small issue, The rectangle brackets provided are too large for the holes in the frame. The description specifically said it did not require drilling. Please advise a solution. Thanks for your assistance.

The install of the Curt hitch part # C13382 on a 2018 Subaru Crosstrek does not require drilling but it does required you to enlarge the access hole that you sent us a picture of.
I attached a picture of the step in the install instructions that covers this. A dremol tool would be the most ideal tool to accomplish this but a file could work as well.
