Question:
Hello, I have a 2004 Lexus ES330. You folks show 2 hitches as fitting and both go around the exhaust. Which of the 2 provides the greater ground clearance? Thanks

Expert Reply:
Both the Draw-Tite # 36336 and the Curt # C12339 will essentially have the same ground clearance. When we installed the Curt option on a 2005 Toyota Camry we found the distance from the ground to the top of the inside of the receiver opening to measure 11-1/2". When we installed the Draw-Tite option on a 2006 Camry we found that same measurement to be 11-3/4". This difference could very well have to do with differences in the tire inflation or cargo in the rear of the vehicle as well so either option is viable.
Because of this I recommend going with the Draw-Tite option for 2 reasons: 1) We have had the opportunity to install this option on a 2005 Lexus ES 330 so you can use that as a reference and 2) The Draw-Tite hitch does not require the use of a support strap for non-trailer loads like the Curt option does.
If you let me know what you will be using the trailer hitch for I can make some additional recommendations for you.
