Today on this 2005 Toyota Camry were going to install part number C12339 from Curt. This is what the hitch looks like once installed on the vehicle. Next, well give you some measurements to help you out in selecting some accessories such as a bicycle rack or a cargo carrier. From the top of the receiver opening down to the ground will be about 11-1/2 inches. From the center of the hitch pinhole to the edge of the bumper will be about 2-3/8 inches. Now well go ahead and show you how the hitch is installed.
The first thing were going to do is go ahead and lower the exhaust. That will be two bolts that we have to remove and theres also one bolt behind it for the heat shield that we have to remove also. Well go over to the drivers side and locate the three attachment points that we have to clean out. There are two threaded existing holes here at the end of the frame just like the passengers side. Therell be a third hole that will be used behind it and its covered up with a sticker.
Well go ahead and peel the sticker off and well go ahead and clean up the threads. Well spray it down with some lubricant and then use the tube brush to help clean up the threads. Well be using part number 814092 for the tube brush. Then well spray it down a few times and use a brush on it and then well use one of the hitch bolts to test it to make sure the threads are clean. All right, at this point we can go ahead and start installing the hitch.
Now in installing the hitch use a metric bolt and a conical toothed washer and well make sure the teeth of the washer is always facing towards the hitch. With all the hardware installed then we go ahead and tighten them down and then torque them down as specified in the instructions. With that that will finish it for our install of part number C12339 from Curt on our 2005 Toyota Camry.
