Tire Chains for 2025 Dynamax Europa 32KD Dually With 275/80R22.5 Tires

Updated 08/27/2025 | Published 08/24/2025

Question:

Hi, I own a 2025 Dynamax Europa 32kd, tire size 275/80R 22.5 This is on a 2025 Freightliner m2-106 chassis with dualie rear drive. We do most of our traveling in winter months so I need a reliable set of chains for snow and ice that are easy to install. If you think I need two sets of chains for the dualies please let me know. I would rather be safe than sorry. Thanks, Joe

Hey Joe! There are actually tire chains specific to dually setups so that would be your best option. I recommend the pewag CL Dually Tire Chains # PWCL294S. These have a diamond pattern so the ride won't be as rough with them installed on your motorhome and they use grooved square links for traction in deep snow and ice. They also come with built-in tensioners for easy installation.

Where are you typically traveling in the winter?

Hi Robin, Thanks so much for the research and snow chain selection. We are heading to Yellowstone National Park the first two weeks in October. I’m hoping not to have to use snow chains and just wait them out, but I’d rather be safe than sorry. Best Regards, Joe

Hi Again Robin, I assume I need two sets of snow chains, so that gets pretty pricey. Do you have any less expensive options? They are a great set of chains but I may have to let go of the easy to install for a less expensive model. Thanks Again, Joe

@JosephF that is a complete set and will cover all four tires on the rear axle, you don't need to buy two. The # PWE4245SC is also available but it is a ladder pattern. These are the only other option with assisted tension. I chose the # PWCL294S because your ride quality will be better with that pattern and the construction is better. Both are going to be significantly more important in a heavy motorhome vs. something like a dually pickup truck. If you're out in Yellowstone a set of quality chains is definitely a big deal.
