Question:
Hello - Ive got a ford f350 2016 dually with 245 75 17 tires Will the square chain Pewags fit across both wheels in the back? If so, would I order the same size for the single in the front? It seems unlikely that I could use the same size across the front as I could use to span the rear dual tires. Can I mix the chains ? - ie. Buy the mud service Pewag for the front and then the wide regular Pewags in the back?

Before you install a set of tire chains on your 2016 Ford F-350, you will first want to check with the owner's manual on the proper procedures for using tire chains. I have highlighted a few key points in the manual which I have attached for you below.
- If possible, avoid fully loading your vehicle
- Use only SAE Class S chains.
- Install chains securely, verifying that the chains do not touch any wiring, brake lines or fuel lines.
- Drive cautiously. If you hear the chains rub or bang against your vehicle, stop and retighten the chains. If this does not work, remove the chains to prevent damage to your vehicle.
- Remove the tire chains when they are no longer needed. Do not use tire chains on dry roads.
The Pewag All Square Snow Tire Chains part # PWE3231S will stretch across both rear wheels on a vehicle with dual rear wheels but these tire chains are not compatible with the dual 245/75-17 rear wheels and are also not Class-S compliant. I spoke to my contact at Pewag and they informed that you can indeed install a set of Mud Service Snow Tire Chains on the front 2 wheels and Snow Tire Chains on the rear 4 wheels.
For a Class-S compliant option that will fit the 245/75-17 tires on your truck, I recommend using the Glacier Cable Snow Tire Chains part # PW3010C. You can use these tire chains on all 6 wheels of your truck and will need 3 sets of 2 in order to do so. It is also recommended to use the Glacier Multi-Arm Rubber Adjusters part # PW105 when using these tire chains.
