Difference Between Tire Sizes 205/80-16 and 205/75-16

how much difference is there in this size 205/80/16 vs. 205/75016? Just where is this difference. thanks John U

Hey John, the difference between those two tire sizes is .8 of an inch in overall diameter. The width is exact same which is 205 mm.

The 205/80 is 28.9 inches in diameter and the 205/75 is 28.1 inches. The way tire sizes are listed is super annoying and way more complicated than they should be. For example, WHY DOES IT GO FROM METRIC TO INCHES? Haha but I digress...

so the PW2029C size would work on 205/75/16? would they just need additional adjustment to snug up the difference in tire diameter??

@JohnU It would not fit as tire chains do not have that much flexibility in what they are designed to fit. So instead you'd want the part # PW2016C to fit that size.
