Any 5th wheel hitch, including a slider, will mount either directly in front of or directly above the rear axle on your 2006 Ford F-250 with a 6-3/4 foot bed.
A 5th wheel hitch will mount into base rails which will determine where the hitch sits once they are installed. If you do not already have base rails installed on your F-250 then I recommend installing some Custom Base Rails # RP50082-58 that use existing holes in the frame of your F-250 for installation. This helps make the install easier and takes out a lot of the measurements that you have to take when installing a Universal Base Rails Kit like part # RP30035.
Installation instructions are linked for each base rail kit for you to reference as well as sample installation videos.
