Question:
My truck did not have a 4 or a 7 pole connector I did install a 4 pole, I now need a 7 pole I found the port 5 pin for the brake controller under the dash. My question is where is the other end in the rear of the vehicle? Or do I need to hard wire it front to back?

Since your 2009 Toyota Tacoma did not come with the factory tow package you will need to do some hardwiring to use a brake controller.
Because you already have a 4-Way flat connector installed on your Tacoma you will just need to install the Universal Wiring Kit # ETBC7 to get a fully functioning 7-Way on your Tacoma. This kit comes with everything that you need to for wiring your brake controller as well.
For a brake controller I recommend using the Tekonsha Prodigy P3 # 90195 because of how easy it is to install and use. If you check out the installation video that I attached you can see both the # ETBC7 and the P3 # 90195 being installed on a similar 2009 Tacoma that has the brake controller connector under the dash.
