Question:
I am towing a Coachmen Clipper 1285 SST with a minivan and a Prodigy RF controler. When towing I experience a lot of vehicle rock when traveling on concret roads or just bumps in general. I was curious if you felt a cushioned ball mount with help eliminate this problem or is it a factor of the weight of the popup combined with the lighter suspension of the TV? Thanks

The item you selected, Cushioned Ball Mount, part # AMSC6, will help a bit in any noise or bounce of the drawbar. The recommended rise and drop for a ball mount on your 2011 Volkswagen Routan is 2 inch rise and 4 inch drop. You will need to use Cushioned Ball Mount, part # AMSC4.
Another thing that can contribute to the rough ride you are feeling is low tongue weight. The tongue weight on your Coachmen Clipper 1285 SST may be very low. Proper loading of the trailer, with heavier items farther forward in the trailer will help with increased tongue weight.
To secure part # AMSC4 to your hitch a good option would be Trailer Hitch Receiver Lock, part # e98880, to prevent theft.
