Question:

I have a 2003 Prestige trailer with Reliable Axles and Calibers. I need to replace the calibers and wonder if the Kodiak 225 Calipers are a direct replacement. I am hoping to not have to replace the backing plates as well. The axles are 5000 lbs with 12inch discs. Thanks in advance for any help

I have a solution for you, however, we do not carry a direct replacement for Reliable brake components.

I recommend one of the Kodiak disc Brake Kits, like # K2HR526D. This kit includes 2- 12" brake rotors with 6 on 5-1/2 inch wheel bolt pattern and 5 bolt brake flanges for 5,200 to 6,000 lbs axles.

This disc brake kit will work with 14-1/2,15, and 16 inch wheels. Checking the wheel bearing numbers will confirm which kit will work with your axle spindles. This kit uses # 25580 for the inner bearings and # 15123 for the outer and # RG06-070 for the grease seals.

If you cannot read the wheel bearing numbers, then your best option will be to measurer the inside diameter of your current bearings. The attached picture will explain what measurements will help find out which bearings will work for your application.
