Question:
I have a 2016 Chevy 3500 CC DRW long bed with the factory puck system, which 5th wheel hitch is recommended for my type of truck? Were upgrading to a 5th wheel camper that has a GVW of 16,995. My truck can tow #24k at the 5th wheel. Any information you can provide will be greatly appreciated.

The only manufacturers with a hitch available to fit in the puck system of your 2016 Chevy Silverado 3500 are Curt and B&W. That is not a bad thing however, because many people find the B&W Companion # BWRVK3700 to be among the highest quality fifth wheel hitches available. It has a towing capacity of 20,000 lbs, which is more than enough for a trailer with a GVWR of nearly 17,000 lbs. The Companion also uses dual jaws which are a full 1" thick to create contact with the king pin, a head which pivots to help ease the amount of chucking, a trio of height settings, and padded bushings that support the head and keep it from rattling.
There is also the option of the Curt A20 # C16064, which also has a 20,000 lbs capacity. It adjusts in height by 4", has a self-aligning pivoting head to reduce noise, and a 2-jaw system which interlocks and uses a 3-point color indicator system to tell you when your hitch is ready to couple, uncouple, and tow.
I have included links to video reviews of each of these products for you, and have added a link to each of the hitches compatible with your 2016 Chevy Silverado 3500.
