Our demonstrator measured shackle strap # 115052GALV when he made the video, linked for reference, and determined that the thickness is approximately 1/4 inch. There can be variations in the manufacturing process so a range of 3/16 to 1/4 inch will cover those tolerances.

The shorter shackle straps that measure 2-5/8 inches long like part #115052GALV are typically used on dual or triple axle systems. The tandem axle hanger kit part #APT3 which includes 7-3/4 inch equalizers uses 2-5/8 inch shackles.
