Question:
Help me understand how they are measured. The size listed, is that the fabric width, its mounting width or its overall width? If its not the fabric width, how do I calculate it? Fabric width/coverage area

The 8' size listed is the width of the entire awning, end to end. The awning also extends up to 50” over the slide out. I've attached a photo indicating what these dimensions include.
To calculate the size you need, determine your slide-out box width by measuring the outside front of the box, including the flange. This particular slider covers boxes with a width between 86” and 91-3/4”. The slider should extend at least 2-1/2” beyond each side of your slide box.
